Vanilla Color Stabilizer for Cold Process Soap prevents the vanillin found in many vanilla type fragrance oils from turning lye based cold process soap formulations brown. It will not prevent color changes due to ingredients other than vanilla.

Standard instructions are to add 1 part Stabilizer to 2 Parts Fragrance for fragrances that contain vanillin as a component.  For Vanilla Fragrances 1 part Stabilizer to 1 Part Fragrance often has to be use.

Directions: In an appropriate sized mixing glass or plastic mixing container slowly stir Vanilla Color Stabilizer into premeasured fragrance oil.  Stir well and allow to sit for 2 minutes then immediately add to your cold process soap at a light trace. Mixture best used within 15 minutes of mixing. Follow all normal cold process soap making precautions including wearing gloves and eye protection and working in a well ventilated area.

Helps but not perfect

I recently tried this product and used it with Cotton Candy fragrance, (which has some vanilla content) in small individual silicone molds where I did a swirl of white with 1 color in each. i wanted to ensure the white stayed white and didn't turn brown. I followed the instructions of 1 part stabilizer to 2 parts oils but increased the 1 part slightly just incase. I usually put my loaf molds in the oven at 180 for 20 mins then turn it off and leave it in the oven overnight to get really nice shiny edges and brighter colors. I tried doing that with my first set of individual molds and that was a bad idea! I think the Vanilla stabilizer separated from the oils and the white part turned brown anyway. One the second set, i didn't put them in the oven this time and there were no issues with separating oils/stabilizer and the white part for the most part stayed white. I would say its an off white and not fully bright white like I was hoping. It helps for sure but its not perfect. Maybe I needed more stabilizer? But I used half the 250 ML bottle to make about 50 individual soaps (where half got ruined) so its not a cheap addition but if you really want a white vanilla soap, this is something that can help keep it lighter. I would say it stays off-white.
