I am SO impressed with the Glamour Suspending Nail Polish Base.
My top 5 positives for Glamour:
- Exceptional durability. I'm hard on my nailpolish, but Glamour can handle it. Single coat without a topcoat: 3 days before my first chip. Single coat with a top coat: I'm at 5 and going strong!
- Can hold a LOT of pigment. I was able to make opaque lacquers that require only one coat!
- Dries quickly enough that scratches and dents aren't an issue
- Did not reactivate when I added a top coat after 1 hour of drying
- Zero residual scent upon hardening
Things to be aware of:
- It's helpful to work relatively fast. I was too delicate and slow for my first batch, and the base became very thick.
- If you're looking to fill a 15mL bottle (or 3x 5mL bottles), you will likely need 17.5mL of base to fill. Some of the base inevitably sticks to the mixing cups.
- Test your colours for opacity before committing to a large batch.
- Be mindful of ventilation when you're working with this. The scent of Glamour is about as inoffensive as nail polish gets, but it still builds up in small spaces. Dispose of used mixing cups and stir sticks as soon as you're done with them.
TL;DR: You won't regret purchasing this, whether it's for fun or business!
