  • Additional Notes: In Cold Process Soap we recommend using fragrances at a lower soap making temperature, approximately 110°F, and adding the fragrance at a light trace. We test our fragrance oils using a soap formula that does not trace quickly at a soap making temperature of 110°F. As soap formulas can vary, we recommend customers do their own small test batch to ensure the fragrance performs well in their own formula.

Great smell but discolours and accelerates!

As per the title. Amazing but strong smell, do not use more than 5% in CP soap. It does discolour to a greenish light brown and does accelerate the trace. Still recommend!

It does discolor

I still really like this fragrance oil but after curing for more then a few days the layer I used my TD on is turning brown so this FO does discolor brown blotchyness.

You gotta know when.

This fragrance oil is soooo wonderful for CP soaping. It didn't separate, rice or oz oil. I soaped at 114 F but was also in a 50 F room so I needed to soap alittle warmer because the room is so cold. I also waited till the batch at a thicker trace before adding. I added the FO and poured right away and it went in the oven to gell faze. I don't know if it discolored the soap as I used titanium dioxide and it turned out perfect. I learnt this from a review for there strawberry FO same thing and my strawberry one was wonderful as well.

Separated in CP soap

I had high hopes for this as I love the smell. However, shortly after pouring into my mould, the fragrance oil separated and pooled on top. I wish I had read all the reviews before soaping! I only read Voyageur’s description. What a waste.

Riced and separated in CP soap

The last time I ordered green apple fragrance was in 2018. This version is definitely not the same as I received previously. For one, the scent is more sweet and not as tart as the original green apple fragrance. It has a slight resemblance to green apple, but not like the previous version. Secondly and more important, this riced and separated immediately. The previous version soaped very well. I wasted 1 batch and the second batch took close to an hour of using my stick blender on and off for the batter to finally come together. I would blend for a few minutes, let it rest for a bit, blend again etc. Unfortunately with this changed recipe, I will need to purchase this scent elsewhere. I did not notice any discolouring yet as the other reviews stated but we will see as the soap cures. Voyageur, you need to do another test on this fragrance, there is definitely a consistency change and should not be recommended for cold process soap.
