Great Preservative

After reading some reviews, I was skeptical and uncertain of using this preservative as it had the possibility of having a smell. I bought a small quantity and tried it out for myself. I made an unscented cream. At first there was a slight smell, definitely not almond. More of a slight chemical smell, but this could be the preservative mixing in with the choice of oils and emulsifiers as well. However, after a day of sitting with the lid off to dry up any condensation in the container, the smell was completely gone. And NO smell while using the cream. After a couple weeks of using the cream I have not noticed any mold or anything else growing in the cream. I used a .8% usage rate for this cream. Another note: my skin is sensitive to all of the preservatives I have tried , EXCEPT Geogard ECT. So, yes I do recommend this product. I figure if the smell cannot be detected in unscented cream, then the scented stuff should be golden!

Great Preservative!

I've been using Geogard ECT for many years and I have never had a single product go bad. Fragrance oils easily cover the scent. Highly recommend!

Not so Scent free

There is a smell to this preservative. I tried to use it in my coffee scrub and unfortunately it made it smell bad.
