Our Cherry Blossom Fragrance Oil is a light and refreshing scent that is sure to become one of your favourites! The combination of Fuji Apple, Plum and Pear top notes along with heart notes of Japanese Cherry Blossom, Jasmine and Lily accentuate the floral notes of this oil, while the base notes of Cedarwood, Vanilla and Musk help round out this fragrance, making it perfect for projects all year long!

Behaviour in Cold Process Soap:

  • Consistency Change: None
  • Colour Change: Slight colour change in uncoloured soap
  • Additional Notes: In Cold Process Soap we recommend using fragrances at a lower soap making temperature, approximately 110°F, and adding the fragrance at a light trace. We test our fragrance oils using a soap formula that does not trace quickly at a soap making temperature of 110°F. As soap formulas can vary, we recommend customers do their own small test batch to ensure the fragrance performs well in their own formula.

The amount of usage will differ based on the appropriate scent level for the specific product being produced. For additional details regarding the maximum safe usage level, refer to the IFRA in Documents. However, determining the actual usage should be based on the desired fragrance strength and the product's capacity to hold the fragrance.

Fixing my 3 star rating

I previously gave this fragrance 3 stars because I didn’t like the smell… but everyone else adored it and my cherry blossom soaps sold like crazy!

It’s basically an exact dupe of BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom so customers probably enjoyed the familiarity. It doesn’t read floral to me - it’s a lot more musky and powdery and is closer to a complex perfume because I cannot put my finger on the smell.

Modifying my previous review a bit in how it behaves - it does seem to accelerate batter ever so slightly, but I’m still able to do some nice swirls. It also discolours ever so slightly to a pale yellow but this change is mostly unnoticeable if you use TD. The fragrance lasts and it sticks to skin really well after a wash.

I gave this fragrance a hard time but after a year I definitely recommend it!

Nothing Special

This fragrance is just… meh. I can’t quite put my finger on the smell, but to me it’s not really floral and is almost reminiscent of a sharp perfume. Curing the soap didn’t seem to help the fragrance “bloom”. I’ll pass on this one in the future.

On a positive note, it behaved well in my CP soap with no ricing or acceleration, and no discolouring. I had a lot of control over my trace, which is unusual for floral fragrances!
