What you will need:

Process:
  • Cut your Clear SFIC Melt and Pour Soap base into small cubes, weigh out 120g into a microwave safe measuring cup and melt in a microwave in 10 second bursts. Be sure not to overheat the base.  Overheating to a boil can damage the soap and this can cause sweating in your final product. Alternately soap can be melted in a double boiler on a stove over low heat.
  • Once the soap is melted, divide the melted soap base equally into the two small measuring cups.
  • To one cup, add 1 x 0.15cc scoop of In the Tropics Mica and 1g of Unicorn Dragon Fragrance oil. Mix gently.
  • To the second cup, add 1 x 0.15cc scoop of Majestic Violet Mica and 1g of Unicorn Dragon Fragrance oil. Mix gently.
  • Prepare the Mold: Using a paint brush to sprinkle a little bit of Super Sparkle Light Gold Mica into the dragon egg mold.
  • Slowly pour both cups of coloured and scented soap base into the mold at the same time, from opposite ends of the mold, so the colors meet in the middle of the mold. Fill the mold about halfway.
  • Add the Surprise by placing a small toy into the middle of the mold.
  • Set the First Layer by spritzing the soap with isopropyl alcohol to eliminate bubbles and help the layers adhere. Let the soap form a layer for about 15 minutes or until a skin forms on the surface.
  • Return to the mold after the first layer has formed. Reheat your soap base, as necessary with short 10 second bursts in the microwave until liquid. Spritz first layer of soap in mold with alcohol again. Fill up the balance of the mold all the way to the top, again pouring both colors simultaneously so they meet in the middle.
  • Let the soap sit undisturbed for about 1 hour to fully set.
  • After the soap has completely set, unmold by pushing firmly on the back of the mold to release the suction.
  • Trim any excess soap if necessary.
  • Allow the soap to fully harden for 24-48 hours before use.
  • Project makes 1 bar. Triple the batch to fill all Dragon Egg Mold cavities.

Tips:

  • Ensure the toy you place inside the soap is small enough to fit comfortably within the mold and won't pose a choking hazard.
  • Handle the melted soap base carefully to avoid burns.
  • Customize the colors and fragrance oils according to your preferences to create unique dragon egg soaps.
