Recommended Ingredients:

(makes 1)

Recommended Utensils:

  • 1x Aluminum Pouring Pot 1 lb
  • 1x 9 oz Clear Glass Jar with 70mm Lug Neck or similar Glass Jar
  • 1x HTP 1212 Pre-tabbed Candle Wick 3.5” Height
  • 1x Candle Glue Dot
  • Double Boiler
  • Whisk / Cordless Mini Mixer
  • Piping bag & closed star tip
  • Knife
  • Thermometer
  • Scale
  • Straw
  • 3 x Sticks to stir
  • 1 x Candle Caution Label - 2" Diameter
  • Gloves

Directions:

  • Step 1: With the help of a straw, place the wick in the center of the Glass Jar.
  • Step 2: In a double boiler melt about 240g of 464 Wax. Once melted, weigh out 70g of wax, add 1x drop of the primary yellow liquid candle dye into the wax and stir until fully mixed in. At between 140F to 150F add 7g of Vanilla Bean Marshmallow Fragrance Oil and stir gently.
  • Step 3: At 110 F slowly pour into the Glass Jar, and wait for the Wax to cool down. This should take about 20 to 30 min.
  • Step 4: Weigh out 70g of wax, add 1x drop of the primary yellow liquid candle dye and 1x drop of the primary red liquid candle dye into the wax and stir until fully mixed in. At between 140F to 150F add 7g of Vanilla Bean Marshmallow Fragrance Oil and stir gently.
  • Step 5: At 110 F slowly pour into the Glass Jar, and wait for the Wax to cool down. This should take again about 20 to 30 min.
  • Step 6: While the second layer is setting, weigh out 100g of wax. Let it cool down to 140 to 150 F then add 10g of the Vanilla Bean Marshmallow Fragrance and stir. As it cools down, begin to agitate the wax using a small hand mixer or Whisk. Once it has cooled down enough it will start to become scoopable. Stop mixing when the wax starts to hold peaks.
  • Step 7: Quickly fill the whipped wax into a piping bag with a closed star tip, then begin to pipe the wax onto the layered candle in a circular motion. Try not to overfill the jar, or else the wax will spill over when lighting the candle.
  • Step 8: Right after piping you may add a couple of yellow, orange, and white sugar sprinkles. However, try to place them away from the wick. Once fully set, trim or curl the wick as needed. Then add the Candle Safety Sticker to the bottom. Now let your finished Candy Corn Candle cure for at least 2 weeks to allow the Fragrance Oil and Wax to fully bond.

Tips:

Candle Cooling:

Cool undisturbed candles at an ambient temperature of 70° F (21.1°C). The containers should be about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) apart to allow air circulation for even cooling. The container should remain open during cooling for at least 24 hrs (large candles may require longer times). Slower cooling will encourage container adhesion while quicker cooling will encourage container pull away.. Candles should be allowed to sit undisturbed for 48 hours before test burning.

Test Burning:

Test burn the candle for burn pool diameter and quality after it has setup (cured or dried) for a minimum of 48 hours. Every combination of container, wax, dye, fragrances, and wick should be tested for burn quality.
